Otto Freidan Borkowski

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Zion Lutheran Church in Manning, for Otto F, Borkowski, 89, of Manning, Rev. Richard Nagler of Wall Lake officiated, Dorothy Kusel, organist, with burial in the Manning Cemetery.

Otto F. Borkowski of Wall Lake, formerly of Manning, died early Saturday, July 29, 1972, at Twilight Acres Nursing Home in Wall Lake where he had resided since 1968. He was the son of Wilhelm and Augusta Borkowski, born February 17, 1883, in Germany. At the age of four he came to the United States and settled in Audubon County, He attended Trinity Lutheran School near Gray and then farmed near Manning. He was married August 1, 1906, to Emma Paulsen and in 1937 they moved to Manning, Mrs. Borkowski died in 1966.

Surviving are three sons, Clarence of Churdan, Earl of Westside and Harold of Manilla; 31 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Borkowski was preceded in death by a son Roy, a daughter, Mrs. Mamie Rostermundt; a brother, Carl; and a sister, Mrs. Mathilda Rudnick.


Otto Borkowski is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
