Paul, son of Montie and Emma (Kusel) Campbell, was born May 9, 1910, at Westside, Iowa. He attended Westside schools, graduating in 1928. Paul received his Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce from the University of Iowa and studied one year of law. He then returned to Westside to work with his father in the Patterson-Campbell Ford Garage.

On December 22, 1936, Paul was united in marriage with Iola Peters at Grant City, Missouri. Three boys were born to this union. Paul lived and worked in the Westside area all his life. After his father died, Paul continued to operate the Patterson-Campbell Ford Garage for more than thirty years. He was a member of the United Church in Westside and in his spare time he enjoyed hunting and fishing. Paul also served on the Westside City Council for many years. He retired in 1973.

In June of 1996, Paul entered Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison where he died Friday, December 18, 1998. He reached the age of 88 years, 6 months and 9 days.

Besides his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his wife and a sister, Ethel Schoenjahn.

He is survived by three sons: John Campbell and his wife JoIda Hansen of New Brighton, Minnesota; James Campbell and his wife Jacquelyn, of Westside; and Gene Campbell and his wife Kris of Champaign, Illinois; two grandchildren Scot and Jennifer of Illinois; and by other relatives and friends.
