In Memory of Paul Jahn

Paul Jahn, 93 of Denison, died Sunday, June 1, 2014, at Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 5, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Denison with burial at the Crawford Heights Memory Gardens in Denison.
The Huebner Funeral Home in Denison is in charge of arrangements where friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4.

Paul Carsten Herman Jahn was born March 18, 1921, the son of Carsten Herman and Alfrieda Maria (Schroeder) Jahn. He died June 1, 2014, at the Crawford County Memorial Hospital in Denison, Iowa, at the age of ninety-three.

Paul was baptized August 30, 1921, and confirmed April 18, 1937, at the Zion Lutheran Church in Manning, Iowa. He married Ruby Walde on August 27, 1944, at the Zion Lutheran Parsonage in Denison. Paul farmed in Hayes Township in the 1940s and 1950s. His later employment included Iowa Beef Processors, Inc.; the Denison Hide Company; Farmland Foods, and Farmers Elevator Mill. Paul was a 20 year employee of the Crawford County Secondary Roads Department, from which he retired. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Denison.

Paul is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Ruby; brother Louie Jahn; two sisters Marena (Jahn) Rowe and Marie (Jahn Brus). Survivors include: his children Gloria and Ken Splittgerber; Dennis and Diana Jahn; Ron and Jill Jahn; five grandchildren: Dustin Jahn (Kari Repaal); Desiree Jahn (Danny Graeve); Demi Jahn (Rodney Foote); Jacy and Haley Jahn; five great-grandchildren: Lyric Jahn; Logan Repaal; Desmond Graeve; Dayton and Ryder Foote; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Leona (Mrs. Walter) Walde; and Clara (Mrs. Raymond) Walde; Jo An Fuller (Mrs. Edward Walde); Wilma Walde; Leonard and Shirley Walde; Gladys and Phil Hagny; Marilyn and Max Yoakum; and Marlene Brudenell, other relatives and friends.
