PAULINE BJORKGREN

Pauline, daughter of Hans Peter and Maria Erlandson, was born April 13, 1889, at Halmstad, Sweden. She attended school near her home. On September 7, 1907 Pauline came to the United States, first to the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area, then to Omaha, NE. In Omaha she was united in marriage with Maurice

Bjorkgren on July 31, 1915. Soon after their marriage they moved to Vail, where Maurice was a carpenter. They made their home together in Vail until Maurice's death in 1974; soon thereafter Pauline moved to Manning. In 1988 she became a resident of the Manning Plaza.

Pauline was active in the Presbyterian Church in Vail and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church during the years she lived in Manning.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two children at birth; a daughter, Margaret as an infant; three brothers; three sisters; and a daughter-in-law, Lois Bjorkgren.

Survivors include her children: Robert Bjorkgren, of Cherokee; Arthur Bjorkgren and his wife, Maryanna, of Boone; Maria and her husband, Bill Martin, of Fremont, CA.; and Paul Bjorkgren and his wife, Norma, of Manning; nine grandchildren: Mary Ann, Ruby, Lynn, Craig, Vicki, Keith, Brad, Gregory, and Anna Lyn; 12 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Services were held Saturday, January 7, 1995 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Manning with the Reverend Marshall Brown.
Connie Siepker provided the organ accompaniment for music "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" and "Nearer My God to Thee."
Casketbearers were Keith Bjorkgren, Craig Bjorkgren, Chester Hanson, Brad Bjorkgren, Gunnar Hanson, and Bob Price. Interment was in Vail Cemetery, Vail.
