Pauline Kerkhoff

Funeral services for Pauline Kerkhoff were held Monday, October 28, 1985, at 1:00 p.m. at the Sacred Heart Church in Templeton.

Reverend Father Joseph Steib was celebrant with Leonette Irlbeck as organist and the Sacred Heart Men's choir as vocalists. Interment was in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Templeton, Iowa, with John Kerkhoff, Glen Kerkhoff, Dale Kerkhoff, Tom Muhlbauer, Mike Muhlbauer, and Dan Muhlbauer serving as Casketbearers. Lector was Jeff Muhlbauer and Gift Bearers were Jenny Muhlbauer, Theresa Baker, Nellie Kerkhoff, and Gena Kasperbauer. Paul Muhlbauer and Doug Bauer were Mass servers. Rosaries were held Sunday, October 27, 1985 at 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. with a prayer service being held Sunday, October 27, 1985 at 8:45 p.m., all at the Ohde Funeral Home.

Pauline, daughter of Barney and Mary (Wegman) Sextro was born October 1, 1895, near Templeton, Iowa. She attended Templeton Grade School and St. Elizabeth Academy, Louis Missouri. On September 5, 1922, Pauline was united in marriage with Henry Kerkhoff. They farmed near Templeton all their married life and moving to town in 1969. On August 3, 1981, Pauline moved to the Terrace Apartments, Manning, Iowa, and later back to her home in Templeton. Pauline died on Friday, October 25, 1985, at Manning General Hospital, Manning, at the age of 90 years, and 24 days.

She was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband, Henry on May 31, 1978; by a son, Floyd, on February 14, 1952; by one great-granddaughter; and by three brothers: John Sextro, Ben Sextro, and Frank Sextro.

Pauline is survived by three children: Bob Kerkhoff and his wife, Evelyn, of Templeton; Phyllis Muhlbauer and her husband, Louis of Manilla; Earl Kerkhoff and his wife, Betty, of Templeton; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Theodore (Natheal) Meiners of Dedham; by 20 grandchildren; by 38 great-grandchildren; by a sister, Marie Drew of Manilla; and by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, Pauline was a member of Sacred Heart Church Templeton, and of Catholic Daughters of America Court #454, Templeton.
