PEARL KUHL

Funeral services for Pearl Kuhl were held Monday, November 3, 1980, at 11:00 a.m. at the Ohde Funeral Home, Manning, Iowa, with the Rev. Donald Jones of the Manning United Methodist Church officiating.
Soloist was Raymond Pratt and organist was Mrs. Dorothy Kusel.
Interment was in Manning Cemetery with Henry Koester, Cliff Smith, Chas. Laverty, Leo Bruck, Merlin Struve and Ronnie Hiatt as casketbearers.

Pearl, daughter of Joseph and Anna Ferek Esycheck, was born February 15, 1895, near Woodbine, Iowa. She attended the schools near Woodbine and Earling, Iowa. Pearl was united in marriage with Emil Kuhl on December 18, 1914. They lived in Manning for their entire married life where Pearl worked in the family restaurant until retiring in 1957. Her husband died July 1, 1973. She continued to make her home in Manning with her brother, Joe Esycheck.

Pearl has been in ill health for the past two years and entered the Manning General Hospital September 9, 1980, where she passed away on Friday, October 31, 1980, at the age of 85 years, 8 months and 16 days.

Pearl was a charter member of the American Legion Auxiliary and a member of the United Methodist Church of Manning.

Beside her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, by one great grandson, by one brother and three sisters.

She is survived by her daughter, Margaret, Mrs. Robert Kuhl of Denison, by one granddaughter, three great grandchildren and by one brother, Joe Esycheck of Manning, and by two sisters, Mrs. Ollie Mohr, Manning, and Mrs. Rose Glorfield, Rock Island, Ill., also by many other relatives and friends.


Pearl Kuhl is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
