Raymond Edward, son of Francis Edward and Selma Pauline (Meislahn) Bosche, was born August 18, 1944, on a farm near Gray, Iowa. He started school in Audubon and lived and attended school in Arizona for a short time. The family moved back to Iowa and Raymond attended Manning Schools, graduating with the Class of 1962. Several years later, he was drafted into the United States Army. Raymond worked as a radio operator and was stationed in Germany. He received his honorable discharge after two years.

Raymond returned to Manning where he worked in the meat department of the grocery store with Paul Volquartsen. He also worked at Farmland in Denison for a short time. Several years after returning from the service, Raymond was diagnosed with schizophrenia and was unable to work. He continued to live with his parents until his mother was no longer able to care for him. In the early 1990s he became a resident of Mallard View in Carroll.

When his health began to deteriorate he received medical attention at Hope Harbor, Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake. He died there on Thursday, November 27, 2008, at the age of 64 years, 3 months and 9 days.
