Raymond Frederick Brockman, age 89, of Carroll, Iowa, and formerly of Arcadia, passed away on Monday, December 11, 2006, at the St. Anthony Regional Hospital.

Raymond was born on September 18, 1917, in Carroll County to Fred and Amanda (Aschinger) Brockman. He was baptized on November 4, 1917. He was then confirmed into the Lutheran faith on April 9, 1933 at the Zion Lutheran Church of Arcadia by Pastor Theodore Tews. He was united in marriage with Dolores Kruse on October 2, 1940, at the Zion Lutheran Church. The two tended the family farm in Arcadia until recently when they moved to Carroll. Raymond was an active member of the Zion Lutheran Church, having served in all aspects of the church.

Raymond is survived by his wife Dolores of Carroll, his daughter Kay Anthony and her husband Royce of Adel, Iowa, son Kim Brockman and his wife Cindy of Arcadia, six grandchildren: Troy and Barb Anthony of Adel, Larry and Tammy Grant of Ankeny, Matthew and Jami Brockman of Brookings, South Dakota, Michelle Brockman and Chris Nelson of Omaha, Nebraska, Marcus Brockman of Arcadia, and Michael Brockman of Arcadia, three great-grandchildren: Cara Anthony of Adel, Iowa, and Parker and Paige Grant of Ankeny, Iowa, a sister Rowene Kracht and her husband Bob of Ankeny, a sister Delone Musfeldt-Joens of Carroll, a sister-in-law Willetta Sander of Denison, Iowa, a sister-in-law Florence Ramsey of Manning, Iowa, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Eunice, a brother-in-law William Sander, brother-in-law William Ramsey, brother-in-law Merlin Musfeldt, and his parents-in-law Harry and Laura Kruse.
