Funeral Services for Robert E. Grimm, 72, of Davenport, Iowa, were held Monday, October 4, 2005 at 2:30 p.m. at Runge Mortuary Chapel in Davenport, Iowa. Interment was held at the Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation was held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the mortuary.

Robert E. Grimm of Davenport passed away unexpectedly Saturday, October 1, 2005 at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus, in Davenport, Iowa.

He was born April 1, 1933 in Manning, Iowa, the son of Edwin and Helen (Schmidt) Grimm. He was a Korean War veteran of the U.S. Army.

Mr. Grimm had been employed as an equipment supervisor for the Milwaukee, Soo Line, and Canadian Pacific railroads, prior to his retirement. Following that, he currently was employed as a truck driver for K & B in Omaha.

He was a member of the Moose and Elks Lodges, VFW, American Legion and enjoyed gardening.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Renee.

He is survived by his wife, Arlene; children: Rich, Rhonda and Renita; stepchildren: Sherry Lutgen of Waunakee, Wisconsin, Stefe Tripkosh of Davenport and Sue Leutwyler of Jefferson City, Missouri; two step-grandchildren: Wade Lutgen of San Diego, California and Amy Lutgen of Jeffersonville, Indiana; and sisters: Virgene Burright of Barling, Arkansas, Janette Miller of Chehalis, Washington and Sylvia Ridgely of Denison.

Those who attended his memorial services from Manning were Sharon Williams, Patricia Mohr and Lila Schroeder.
