Robert Hinners
Funeral services for Robert Raymond (Bob) Hinners were held Monday, March 29, 1993, at 10:30 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Manning, Iowa. Pastor Robert Riggert officiated the service with Paula Weiss as organist. Interment was held in Manning City Cemetery, Manning, Iowa with Allen Ehlers, Terry Koch, Bary Kienast, Steve Koch, Tim Kienast and Don Vonnahme as casketbearers.

Robert, son of Edmund and Hertha Andresen Hinners, was born February 22, 1928, at Carroll, Iowa. He attended country schools and Manning High School.
On October 4, 1947, Robert was united in marriage with Neva Kruse. To this union five children, Deborah, Cynthia, Kathleen, Susan and James, were born. Robert farmed for several years in the Manning area. Beginning in the 1970s he was employed by J & S Feed, and later by Wede's Feed Supply. Robert and Neva moved into Manning in 1990.

Robert enjoyed working outdoors, fishing and raising sheep for the grandchildren's 4-H projects. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and served as an elder.

On March 3, 1993, Robert entered Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. He died there on Thursday, March 25, 1993, at the age of 65 years, 1 month and 3 days.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Donald and Kenneth.

Survivors include his wife, Neva, of Manning; his children: Deborah Hinners, of Wichita Falls, Texas; Cynthia and her husband, Duane Karsten, of Manning; Kathleen and her husband, Dave Rohe, of Manning; Susan and her husband, Oscar Kreft, of Sac City; and James Hinners and his wife, Amy, of Hendersen, Nevada; nine grandchildren: Nate, Bryan, and Chad Rohe; Cole and Alison Karsten; Brent and Brittany Kreft; and Austin and Patrick Hinners; a sister, Maxine and her husband , Leonard Koch, of Westside; two sisters-in-law, Virgene and her husband, Orville Kroeger and Genelle and her husband, Leland Kienast, all of Manning; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


Robert Hinners is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
