Robert Kuhl, 53, Manning, Dies From a Stroke
Robert Grover Kuhl, Manning businessman, died at 6 o'clock this morning at the hospital here. He was about 53 years old.

Mr. Kuhl died as the result of a stroke which he suffered while caring for the furnace at his home last night. He had not been in good health for the last three years and had recently been in the hospital for a few days' treatment.

Funeral arrangements have not been made, awaiting word from his children in California. The body is at the Ohde Funeral home. Mr. Kuhl, who had previously owned and operated the Princess Cafe in Manning for a long time, and operated a confectionery and tobacco store at the same location. He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter and Louisa (Lohmeier) Kuhl of Manning. His father died in May 1912, and mother died in October 1945.

Survivors include four daughters and one son: Mrs. Arlene Owen and Jean Kuhl, Berkeley, California; Mrs. Burnell Bauer (Maxine), Omaha; Robert Kuhl, U.S.N., San Francisco, California; and Marcia Kuhl, Manning. He also leaves two grandchildren, Shannon Owen and Jeffrey Bauer; two brothers, Pete and Emil Kuhl, and two sisters, Mrs. Marvin Lamp (Rose) and Mrs. Henry W. Hagedorn (Bonita), Manning.

A brother, Henry, preceded him in death, and also two sisters who died in infancy.

His first wife, Bertha Vollmer died in 1935 and then he remarried Bessie Fuller in 1938.
