Roger L. Clark

Roger L. Clark, 72, of York, Nebraska, died Saturday, March 22, 2003, at Knoxville, Iowa. Roger owned and operated Clark Auto Parts with his family in York since 1954.

He was born October 1, 1930, in Shelby County, Iowa, to Shirley and Leona (Borkowski) Clark. Roger was a 1948 graduate of the Manning High School in Manning, Iowa, and had attended Drake University. He was in the Army during the Korean conflict and served as a heavy equipment instructor.

Roger was married in 1953 to Berna Welborn at Springfield, Missouri. He was a past president of the Nebraska Automotive Recycling Assn. and had been a member of the National Automotive Dismantlers & Recyclers Assn.

He is survived by his wife Berna of York; two sons, Tom (Jane) Clark of York, and Jim Clark of Flagstaff, Arizona; one granddaughter, Lauren Clark of York. Preceding him in death were his parents and his son Daniel.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Metz Chapel in York. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery of York. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Thursday. Metz Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
