Ronald James Hansen

RONALD J. HANSEN, 80, of Atlantic (formerly of Manning), died November 24th, at the Heritage House in Atlantic. A Celebration of Life for RONALD HANSEN will be held December 15th at 11 a.m., at the United Methodist Church, in Atlantic.

RONALD JAMES HANSEN, son of Marvin and Irene (Hargens) Hansen born on June 23, 1938. He was the second oldest out of four children. He was baptized and confirmed in the Methodist Church in Manning, Iowa.

He attended Ewoldt No. 6 country school till 8th grade, and then started at Manning Public School graduating in 1957.

Ronnie loved to be outside working with livestock and farming. After graduation he went to Ohio to work on dairy farms and show cattle. He would share the many times he rode in trains with the cattle and how much fun it was at the shows.

He was married in October of 1959 to Karen Merriss. To this union five children were born and raised in Audubon County. He enjoyed participating in all the children's activities such as 4-H and fairs. On June 2, 1990, Ronald married Theresa Hass. They lived on the farm in Audubon County.

Ronnie worked at Puck Implement Company in Manning, Iowa, for 11 years. He enjoyed delivering equipment all over the county.

In 2011, they moved to a condo, in Atlantic, Iowa. Ronnie moved to the Heritage House on September 11, 2017. He died on November 24, 2018, at the Heritage House.

He is survived by his wife, Theresa, his five children: Linda (Darrel) Cline, Marcia (Scot) Storjohann, Tim (Emily) Hansen, Jodi (Larry) Osthus, and Nancy (Lonnie) Kragel; his three step-children, Michele (Todd) Tvedt, Angela (William) Brown, and Heather (Seth) Foresman. There are 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

He is survived by siblings: Duane Hansen, Janell Boswell, and Carol (Larry) Muhlbauer. He is preceded in death by his parents.
