Ronald Wilbur, son of Wilbur and Wynona "Nonie" (Hansen) Hill, was born October 25, 1952, at Carroll, Iowa. He was raised on the farm north of Manning. Ron attended school in Manning, graduating with the Class of 1970. His love of sports began in high school where he was named unanimously as the all-conference nose guard of the Coon Valley Conference. Following graduation Ron worked around Manning and then attended Northwest Missouri State and the University of Nebraska Omaha before earning his bachelor's degree from Bellevue University.

Ron eventually moved to Omaha, Nebraska, where he worked for Grainger, a parts company, and then Carrier Corporation for over 15 years. At that time he decided he wanted to be self- employed and became a Principal Financial Agent. During some of those years his unselfish dedication to family manifested itself when he cared for his parents when they started suffering many health issues.

While living in Omaha he made many friends and acquaintances both through work, his gym and numerous sporting events. He attended the College World Series every year, made many trips to Kinnick Stadium to support the Iowa Hawkeyes and traveled with friends to sporting events across the United States. He was an avid New York Yankees fan and in addition, travelled with family and friends for fun. Ron loved to entertain in his home, both on holidays and on the spur of the moment.

Underlying all his many generous qualities were his roots on the family farm west of Manning. He would join his brother Mike during planting, harvest and to simply walk the farm land, particularly the north area. He was also a loyal friend to his many school buddies.

On November 30, 2016, Ron was packed and ready to head to the farm when he suffered a fatal brain aneurysm. He died suddenly and unexpectedly at his home in Omaha while planning something he thoroughly enjoyed doing. He was 64 years, 1 month, and 5 days of age. Preceding Ron in death are his parents and great-nephew John Edward Faust, Jr.

He is survived by his sister Sheryl (Lenny) Carstens of Council Bluffs; brother Mike Hill (Beth) of Manning; nieces and nephew who he treated as his own children: Jill Faust (John) and their three children Catie (Dylan) Lightfoot, Joseph Faust and Caroline Faust; Laura (Jon) Howe and their son Lucas and Jessica (Ryan) Sones; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.
