Death of Rosa Grage.
October 7, 1909 Manning Monitor

The many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Julius Grage were grieved to learn that their oldest daughter, Rosa, had died suddenly of appendicitis at the University Hospital at Iowa City last Thursday, September 30, 1909. So unexpectedly came the news of her death that the shock was doubly severe. Mr. Grage and his son, Rudolph, left immediately for Iowa City to bring the body home. Saturday at the home the funeral was preached, after which kind hands slowly carried the body to the cemetery where it will be until her spirit from heaven returns on resurrection day to reclaim it. Miss Rosa was about twenty years of age and was well thought of here. She was kindhearted and had a host of friends who will miss her. In that period of her life known as young womanhood she was called away. May the sorrowing parents be consoled by this thought, a multitude of friends feel her loss as a loss of a true friend.

Card of Thanks.
For the many acts of kindness and for the beautiful flowers we received at the death of our dear Rosa we wish to publicly thank those who so kindly remembered us. They were indeed a consolation in that sad hour of affliction.
Mr. and Mrs. Julius Grage and Family.

Note discrepancies from the genealogical society record book:
Rose Grage February 14, 1888 to September 29, 1909.
It is possible that the genealogical society volunteer misread Rosa during her research.

The city records list Rosa Grage 1888 to 1909.
