Rose Daiker

Rose Ann Daiker, age 84, of Carroll passed away on Monday, August 1, 2015, at St. Anthony Nursing Home in Carroll.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, September 4, 2014, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll with Fr. Craig Collison as Celebrant. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll after 3:30 P.M. on Wednesday where there will be a Rosary at 4:00 P.M. and a Christian Wake Service at 6:30 P.M. The casket will be moved to St. Lawrence Church at 9:00 A.M. on Thursday where visitation will resume until the time of Mass. Lectors for the Mass will be Steve Daiker and Amy Larrington. Music for the Mass will be by Kate Cuddy and the St. Lawrence Choir. Mass servers will be grandchildren: Kendra, Kalee and Kara Peter. Gift bearers will be grandchildren: Kaci, Kolbi, and Kamri Peter with their parents Stacey and Jon Peter. Casket bearers will be grandchildren: Stacey Peter, Ben Dailey, Jill Bowe, Jon Daiker, Hannah Robinson, Sarah Daiker, Grace Daiker, and Morgan Larrington. Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll. Arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll and online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com

Born on May 19, 1931, in Manning, she was the daughter of Harry and Dorothy (Kuhl) Rix. Rose grew up in Manning and graduated from Manning High School in 1949. She was married to Elmer Daiker on January 11, 1951, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll Fr. Koester. Elmer and Rose lived in Carroll for one year and then moved to their farm north of Carroll. Rose became the Administrator of the Carroll County Care Facility, currently Mallard View, in 1967 where she worked until her retirement. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church.

Rose is survived by her husband Elmer Daiker of 64 years of Carroll; her children: Stan Daiker of Carroll, Steve and Deanna Daiker of Manning, Nancy Daiker and Barry Peterson of Leon, Bo and Amy Jo Larrington of Linn Creek, Missouri, Mary Lynn Daiker of Carroll; eight grandchildren: Stacey Peter, Ben Dailey, Jill Bowe, Jon Daiker, Hannah Robinson, Sarah Daiker, Grace Daiker, and Morgan Larrington; eight great-grandchildren: Kendra, Kalee, Kara, Kaci, Kolbi, Kamri, Will, and Alice; and several nieces and nephews. Rose was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Lynn Rix.
