Roy Borkowski, son of Otto & Emma (Paulsen) Borkowski, was born February 27, 1907, in Audubon County and died September 5, 1963 in a car accident near Alta at the age of 56 years, 6 months, and 8 days.

In early infancy, Mr. Borkowski was baptized and later confirmed in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Audubon.

On February 1, 1928, he was married to Julia Friedrichsen at Audubon. The couple lived in and around Manning until 1948. That year they moved to Greene County where they lived seven years. In 1955 they moved near Spencer and in 1956 to a farm northeast of Storm Lake where they have since made their home.

Mr. Borkowski was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Storm Lake since 1960.

Preceding him in death was one sister, Ida Mamie Rostermundt. He leaves his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Duane (Florence) Fister of Marseilles, Illinois; five sons, Raymond of Rutland, Laverne of Storm Lake, Russell of Denison, Merle of Griswold, and Allen of Great Lakes Training Station; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Borkowski of Manning; three brothers, Charles of Churdan, Harold of Botna, and Earl of Glidden.

Funeral Services were held September 9 with Vicar D.A. McCollough officiating in the absence of Pastor W.F. Mueller.
