Mr. Roy Sherman Farrell, age 80, of 335 N. Whitney St., Carroll, Iowa, died at his mobile home at Swan Lake August 30, 1988, following an unexpected illness. He had worked at the Chicago North Western Railroad for 16 years and then the Schenkleberg Manufacturing Company until his retirement. He was born October 29, 1907, at Manning, Iowa, and was raised in Manning attending school from Kindergarten through Second Grade. He has lived in Carroll for the past 60 years. He was the son of Sherman Grant and Gusta Bertha Amelia (Jansen) Farrell. Roy was married to Clara Rungee August 11, 1928, at Denison, Iowa. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Carroll, Iowa.
Surviving is a daughter, Mrs. George (Evahjune) Yarbrough of Council Bluffs; 3 grandchildren; 1 step-grandchild; 7 great-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren; two brothers: Guy Farrell of West Fork, Arkansas, and James Farrell of San Diego, California; and 1 sister, Mrs. Earl (Luella "Pete") Meiers of Carroll.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents and his wife on June 22, 1988; and 3 sisters: Mrs. Florence Domayer, Mrs. Ruby Schoeppner, and Mrs. LaVon Wright; 1 brother, Vernon; and 1 infant sister, Frances Margaret.
