Dies two weeks after wife in California home.

Sam Bingham, 88, former Manning resident, died at Escondido, California, at 4:30 a.m. Sunday. He died in his sleep. His death came two weeks and three days following that of his wife, Alta (Shephard) Bingham.
Son of Mr and Mrs. Samuel and Jane (Callison) Bingham pioneer settlers in this area, he was born in Galesburg, Illinois. He moved to Manning at the age of two, and farmed here until moving to California 20 years ago.
Funeral rites were Tuesday in Escondido. Bodies of the couple will be cremated and interred in Manning.
Mr. Bingham is survived by two sons; Jay of Manning and Keith of Escondido; two daughters, Mrs. Elmer (Irene) Rowedder of Englewood, California, and Mrs. Ray (Lois) Rumsey of San Diego.


Sam Bingham is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
