Mrs. Sarah M. Babcock was born May 31, 1823, was married to Chester A. Babcock January 7, 1843, at Oswego, New York, and there were born four sons, two of whom are dead and those alive are L.G. Babcock of Manning, Iowa, and C.W. Babcock of this city.

Mrs. Babcock, Grandma as all called her, departed this life March 3, 1916, aged 92 years, 9 months and 3 days. Mrs. Babcock joined the Methodist Church in her youth and has lived a devoted constant Christian all through her life.

The funeral was held at 2:30 p.m., Dr. Chas. Wayne Ray preaching the sermon, and the remains taken to Manning, Iowa, for burial.
