SELMA PAULINE BOSCHE

Funeral services for Selma Pauline Bosche were held Saturday, January 27, 1996, at 10:30 a.m. at Ohde Funeral Home, Manning. Officiating was Pastor Dave Knudsen of Calvary Baptist Church, Manning, Iowa.

Music included "The Old Rugged Cross," "In The Garden," and "Softly And Tenderly" with Sara Stracke as organist and Jim Watkins, vocalist. Interment was at Manning City Cemetery, Manning. Casketbearers were Danny Clipperton, Jeff Loew, Dick Loew, Cheryl Wanninger, Bonnie Wurzer, and Rhonda Wegner.

Selma, daughter of Bernard and Anna (Dreher) Meislahn, was born March 16, 1920, near Gray, Iowa, where she attended school.

September 30, 1940, Selma was united in marriage with Francis Bosche. They made their home in various localities, finally settling in Manning in 1952. Three children, Leona, Betty, and Raymond, were born to this union. Besides raising her family, Selma worked at Priebe & Sons in Manning, Ocoma Foods in Carroll, and Vilas Food in Storm Lake.

Selma had been in declining health and had been on dialysis for nearly three years. In the spring of 1995 she moved to the St. Anthony Nursing Home in Carroll where she died late Tuesday afternoon, January 23, 1996, at the age of 75 years, 10 months, and seven days.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Gertrude Meislahn, and a brother, Chris Meislahn.

Survivors include her husband, Francis Bosche of Manning; her children: Leona and her husband, Larry Hansen of Manning; Betty Clipperton of Manning, and Raymond Bosche of Carroll; 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Herman Meislahn and his wife, Irene, of Gray; Evelyn and her husband, Richard Morrell of Des Moines; Leona and her husband, Eugene Rohe of Manning; and Alvin Meislahn and his wife, Barbara, of Des Moines; a sister-in-law, Alice Meislahn of Denison; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Selma enjoyed music very much and played the accordion.
