Susan Bower

Funeral Services for Susan Bower were held at 11:00 Saturday, October 28, 2006 at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Sioux Falls, SD. Interment followed at 2:00 pm at the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Garretson, SD. Visitation was held on Friday afternoon, with the family present to greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 Friday evening at Miller West Funeral Chapel, Sioux Falls.

Susan Marie Grimm was born on December 17, 1958, in Carroll, Iowa, to Clousie and Betty (Grelck). She was raised in Manning, Iowa, where she graduated from high school in 1977.
While attending Morningside College, Sue began working for Northwestern Bank as a Proof Operator. In 1981, she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. Transferring to Sioux Falls in 1982, Sue continued with Northwestern (Norwest / Wells Fargo) Bank. In 1998, she became a Finance Officer in Education Financial Services with Wells Fargo, where she was currently employed.

On April 21, 1990, Sue was united in marriage with Dale Bower at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Sioux Falls, SD. In 1999, the couple was blessed with a beautiful set of twins, Carsen and Christine.

Sue enjoyed camping, cross-stitch, and music. She loved to travel and was fond of her trips to the Black Hills, Seattle, San Francisco, Kentucky, Atlanta Olympics, Houston and Galveston, New England and Canada, Winnipeg, England and Scotland. Sue also enjoyed photographing the many wonderful sights she encountered throughout her trips. Sue liked to go bicycling. For three years in July, she rode a distance of 450 to 500 miles in RAGBRAI (Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa) and for eight years rode in the Black Hills Classic for the South Dakota Lung Association.

She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church where she was active as choir director, church treasurer, Deacon and Elder. Sue was also a member of the Sioux Empire Amateur Radio Club.

Sue cherished each moment spent with her children, family and friends. Determined, active and strong, Sue thoroughly lived life to its fullest. Her charming and quiet spirit will be forever treasured.
Sue died October 25, 2006. She was 47.
Preceding her in death were her parents, a brother, Jon Grimm, and her half-sister, Marilyn East.

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Dale Bower and their children, Carsen and Christine, all of Garretson, SD; and her sister, Sharon MacDonald-Williams and her husband, Tom, Manning, IA, and sister-in-law, Deb Grimm, Manning, IA.
