Hanged Himself.
While little 14-year-old Elsie Joens, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Joens, living four miles south of town, was looking for eggs last Tuesday afternoon she went to the hay mow and there discovered the body of Thomas Hansen, a farm hand, hanging from a rope attached to the hay fork, with his feet barely touching the hay. The little girl immediately ran to the house and notified her parents, who summoned the sheriff and coroner of Audubon County. A jury composed of J. Dammann, F. Fischer, and W. Puck was impaneled, which returned a verdict of suicide.

The dead man had worked in the vicinity of Manning, as a farm hand, for several years, and was quite well known in this vicinity. No cause is known for his rash act.

The body was taken to Audubon for burial.
