A MEMORIAL RECORD
Thomas Hansen was born in Crawford County, Iowa, on November 25, 1906. He was the son of the late John and Mary (Lorenzen) Hansen. He attended the country schools in Iowa and then began farming.

Tom, as most people knew him, was married to Theresa Olbertz on May 10, 1926, at Manilla, Iowa. Following their marriage they continued farming. Tom and Theresa became the parents of 2 daughters and 3 sons.

In 1950 the family moved from Iowa and came to Minnesota. Here they settled in the Storden area on the farm. Tom was a "family man" and very much enjoyed the companionship of his wife, children and grandchildren.

Having farmed all of his working lifetime, Tom retired after the harvest was complete in the fall of 1985. His enjoyment of his retirement was interrupted in March of this year when he suffered a stroke. This required him to be hospitalized for a time. Later he became a resident of the Good Samaritan Home in Jackson, Minnesota. It was there that he passed away on Thursday evening, August 21, 1986, at the age of 79 years, 8 months and 26 days.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 2 great-grandchildren.

Tom is survived by his wife, Theresa: his 5 children, Mrs. Clifford (Velma) Netsch of Bingham Lake, Minnesota; Mrs. Delores Sykes of Melrose, Iowa; Wayne Hansen of Algona, Iowa; Roger Hansen of Windom, Minnesota; and Clifford Hansen of Storden, Minnesota: 20 grandchildren: 25 great-grandchildren: 1 brother, LeRoy Hansen of Bellingham, Washington: and 5 sisters, Freida Ewoldt and Anna Ewoldt both of Denison, Iowa; Minnie Lamp of Manning, Iowa; Rose Callender of Minden, Louisiana; and Ellen Murphy of Sacto, California.

You are invited to join the family for fellowship and refreshments at the American Legion Dining Room at Storden following the burial.
