Viola Boger

Viola Helena Margaretha Boger, age 76, of Carroll, Iowa died at the St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll, Iowa on Saturday, February 15, 2003. A daughter of Albert A. and Rosa (Schmidt) Puck, she was born on May 29, 1926 at Manning, Iowa, She was baptized on October 3, 1926 in Manning, Iowa and was confirmed in the Lutheran faith.

As a girl she attended school in Manning and worked in a cafe. She owned and operated a beauty shop for several years. She was married to Leslie Boger on January 31, 1957 at Zion Lutheran Church in Denison. Vi and Les have lived in Crawford, Carroll, and Sac counties. In later years she worked for the Carroll Manor Nursing Home, The Carroll Health Center, and Fairview Elementary School.

Vi was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Carroll. She enjoyed puzzle books, playing cards with her grandchildren, and she loved to dance to polka music.

Surviving are her husband Leslie of Carroll; a daughter Janice Boettger and her husband Duane of Dow City, Iowa; a son Jimmy Puck and his wife Kay of Aurellia, Indiana; four grandchildren: Danyel, Jacob, Jeffrey, and Denise; a sister Alice Stevens of Manning, Iowa; a sister Shirley Puck of Ida Grove, Iowa; a brother Lewis Puck of Denison; Iowa; a sister-in-law Erma Fritz of Charter Oak, Iowa; a sister-in-law Jenell Beam of Arion, Iowa; a brother and sister-in-law Clarence and Virginia Boger of Denison, Iowa; a brother-in-law Louis Boger of Carroll, several nieces and nephews, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Donald, a sister, Delores, a brother-in-law, Joe Stevens, and a nephew.
