W.E. Grundmeier, Resident of Hines,
Dies Unexpectedly

Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon for Walter Emanuel Grundmeier, 58, Hines farmer, who died last Thursday at the Bemedji Lutheran Hospital, following a short illness.

Held at the First Presbyterian church in Blackduck, the Rev. Elmer King officiated.

Internment was in Lake View Cemetery, under the direction of Kolden-Snustad Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Ray Theisen, Russell Gross, Ben Come, Roman Schwegel, Ed Shaw and Myron Swanson. Mrs. Alan Cross and Mrs. Elmer King sang a duet.

Born in Manning, Iowa, Nov. 2, 1905, Grundmeier moved to Minnesota in 1915, locating in Hines where he engaged in farming and timber work. He was married to Eleanor Noel July 7, 1926 in Blackduck.

Surviving is his widow ; five daughters, Mrs. Albert Theisen (Alice) of Blackduck, Mrs. Roy Quimby (Joyce) and Mrs. Robert Seach (Laura) of Beloit, Wisc., Mrs. Robert Vaccaro (Carol) of Elgin, Ill., Mrs. Leroy Schwegel (Lois) of Whitefish, Mont.; two sons, Marvin of Blackduck and Leroy of Whitefish, Mont.; 23 grandchildren ; four brothers, Charley of Hines, Adolph, Kelliher, Frank of Gemmell, Martin, Libby, Mont.; a half-brother, Ned Norris of Dysert, Iowa ; two sisters, Mrs. August Mergele of Taconite and Mrs. James Meade of Meadowlands. He was predeceased by a daughter, Louise, his parents and two brothers, Art and Herbert.
