Wiebke Claussen Buried Thursday

Mrs. Wiebke Claussen (nee Thomsen) was born in Lunden, Germany, May 13, 1820. In 1845 she was married to Peter Claussen Sr. who died 23 years ago. In 1882 she came to American and settled in Crawford Co., where she lived a few years, going from there to Davenport where she lived with her children. Since 1888 she has lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Mrs. and Mr. Wm. Ruhde.

Last Monday at the age of 90 years, 10 months and 14 days she left this earth to join the hosts above. She lived a good life, was beloved by all who knew her, and left a host of sorrowing relatives and friends who mourn her departure. To mourn her death are Peter Claussen, Mrs. Ernest Lagenheim, of Davenport, Mrs. Wm Ruhde, Mrs. T.H. Schultz of Stanton, Neb. and Mrs. Wm Struve, of Davenport.

Besides there are 23 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Rev. Fruechte preached the funeral sermon last Thursday, after which the sorrowing relatives and friends went to the Manning cemetery with the remains and helped lay to rest a dear mother, a loving wife, and a true faithful friend.
