Funeral services for Wilda David were held Saturday, December 1981, 1:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Manning with Pastor Edward F. Heinicke officiating. Organist was Dorothy Kusel. Interment was in Manning Cemetery With Larry Martens, Kenneth Graves, Fred Hansen, Alan Hinz, Lyle David, and Richard Kanning as casketbearers.
Ohde Funeral. Home in Manning was in charge of arrangements.

Wilda E., daughter of Louis and Hannah Ruhde Hinz, was born May 11, 1908, at Stanton, Nebraska. As a young girl she came to the Manning area with her family and attended country schools south of town. She was united in marriage with Alfred David on November 23, 1927. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1977. They farmed near Manning and moved into town in 1966. Since 1973, Wilda has helped her husband take care of the Manning City Parks.

After a long illness, Wilda passed away on Wednesday, December 2, 1981, at the Manning General Hospital, at the age of 73 years, 6 months, and 21 days.

She was preceded in death by her parents, by a sister, Bernice Graves, and by a granddaughter, Kimberly Jensen and by an infant son.

She is survived by her husband, Alfred; by a son, Don of Omaha; by a daughter, Lois, Mrs. Richard Jensen of Omaha; by four grandchildren, Randy and Robin David, Cheri, Mrs. Robert Horan, and Tamara, Mrs. David Wiens; by a great granddaughter, Bobbi Wiens. She is also survived by two sisters, Eldora, Mrs. Melvin Hagge of Denison, Vera, Mrs. Louie Martens of Atlantic, and by a brother, Delbert Hinz of St. Charles, Iowa; by an uncle, Harry Hinz of Manning, and by an aunt, Mrs. Henry Timmerman of Manning.

She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary, the Garden Club and served on the City Park Board. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran congregation in Manning. Many people will remember Wilda's talent in decorating wedding cakes.


Wilda David is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
