WILHELMINA "MINNIE" JENSEN

Funeral services for Wilhelmina "Minnie" Jensen were held Friday, March 28, 1986 at 2:00 p.m. at Ohde Funeral Home in Manning. Pastor Randy Ross of First Presbyterian Church, Manning, officiated the service. Music was provided by Connie Siepker, organist, and Helen Ohde, vocalist. Interment was in Manning City Cemetery with Louis Boell, Eldor Schwitzer, Clifford Stammer, Calvin Stammer, Craig Stammer and Cory Stammer serving as casketbearers.

Minnie, daughter of Henry and Caroline Hageman Westphalen, was born October 16, 1899 north of Manning, Iowa. She was the youngest of six children and she attended rural schools near her home. On August 3, 1919 Minnie was united in marriage with Rudolph Taylor and spent several years in Nebraska. One daughter, Iola Mae, was born to this union. On May 6, 1934 Minnie was united in marriage with William J. F. Jensen. One son, William, Rae, was born to this union. Minnie and Bill lived in Manning for the rest of their lives. Minnie was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, of the UPW, and of the Busy Thimbles. She also was active in the Women's Relief Corps, the Pastime Club, and Garden Club where she served as President. Minnie remained active with her many interests which included ceramics, pinochle, doing lace curtains and tablecloths, and babysitting until 1983 when she became a resident of the Manning Plaza Nursing Home.

Minnie died at the Manning Plaza, Manning, Iowa, on Tuesday, March 25, 1986, at the age of 86 years, 5 months, and 9 days.

She was preceded in death by her parents; by the following brothers and sisters: Anna, Mrs. Hans Struve; Herman Westphalen; Amelia, Mrs. Hubert Lamp; William Westphalen; and Henry Westphalen, Jr.; by both of her husbands; by her son, William, in 1982; and by her daughter, Iola, in 1983.

Minnie is survived by 5 grandchildren: Clifford Stammer and his wife, Nancy, of Manning; Calvin Stammer and his wife, Nancy, of Manning; Shelli Kelly and her husband, Vic, of California; Elizabeth

"Buffy" Jensen, of California; and William "Todd" Jensen, of California; by 8 great-grandchildren; by a son-in-law, Clarence Stammer, of Manning; by a daughter-in-law, Barbara Koenig, of Van Nuys, California; by the following sisters-in-law: Maurine, Mrs. Herman Westphalen, of Peetz, Colorado; Gladys, Mrs. Leo (Jensen) Dalton, of Wassau, Nebraska; and Grace, Mrs. Hubert Jensen, of Clinton; and by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
