Wilhelmina (Wohlert) Kusel

Wilhelmina Wohlert was born in Schunedorf, near Leutenberg, Germany, on July 20, 1862. She died at Deadwood, South Dakota, on September 30, 1920, aged 58 years, 2 months and 10 days.

She was married to Christian Kusel, Jr., on January 12, 1874, at Arcadia, Iowa. From there they moved to Nebraska in 1891 and settled on a farm near Bloomfield where they lived until the year 1911, when they moved to Newell, South Dakota.

Besides her husband she leaves five daughters and two sons as follows: Mrs. Henry Friedrichsen of Manning, Iowa; Mrs. Claus Wulf, White Lake, South Dakota; Mrs. Victor Carlson, Sweetwater, Oklahoma; Mrs. Edwin F. Adams, Bloomfield, Nebraska; Mrs. Henry Martens, Newell, South Dakota, Charles Kusel and Henry Kusel, both of Bloomfield. Other relatives surviving her are Mrs. Ida Grube, Manning, Iowa, August Kusel, Salem, Oregon, Mrs. Sophia Boll, Bloomfield, Nebraska, and Detlef Wohlert, Bronson, Iowa.

The body was shipped to Bloomfield from Deadwood, South Dakota, arriving here last Saturday evening. The funeral services were conducted from the Congregational Church in this city at 2:00 o'clock p.m. on Sunday, the Rev. J. Tresidder officiating and the body was laid to rest in the Bloomfield Cemetery.

To the surviving husband and children, on behalf of the many friends of the deceased in this community, extends it condolences in this hour of their sorrow.
