MRS. WILHELMINA LAGE

Funeral rites for Mrs. Wilhelmina Lage, 78, were held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 23, 1965, with Pastor Edward Heinicke officiating. Burial was in the Manning Cemetery, with nephews acting as pallbearers.

Daughter of Henry and Margaretha (Heesch) Ohde, she was born November 3, 1886, in Hayes Township, Crawford County. She attended rural, schools near her home and also the Aspinwall School. On February 18, 1914, she married Alfred Lage. They lived on the same farm northwest of Manning since their marriage. Mr. Lage died June 29, 1964. Mrs. Lage died on Wednesday morning, October 20, 1965, at Manning General Hospital, following a long illness. She entered the hospital September 5.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran church and the Zion Ladies Aid.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four sisters, Mrs. Annie Bolte, Mrs. Cecelia Carstensen, Mrs. Marie Wohlers, Mrs. Bertha Nissen, and a half-brother, John Roggendorf. She is survived by one daughter: Mrs. Arthur (Frances) Fielweber, and Mrs. Elden (Ruth) Schroeder who was raised by Wilhelmina & Alfred when her parents died of tuberculosis at 2 1/2, all of Manning; four grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. George (Ida) Dethlefs of Manning.
