Death of William Bohnsack
The people of Manning and vicinity were greatly shocked Friday morning to hear that William Bohnsack a respected citizen of Manning had dropped dead of heart disease at his home in this city. Mr. Bohnsack had been a sufferer for some years from dropsy but it was at no time considered dangerous enough to reach his heart until the time of his death.

William Bohnsack was born at Fargau, Holstein, Germany, January 10, 1843, and was married in 1860 to Minnie Langfeldt at Selent, Germany. He moved to America with his family in May 1881 and settled in Scott County where he remained for two years when he moved to Crawford County and has lived in the vicinity of Manning ever since.

He leaves a wife and two children to mourn his loss. The children, Chris Bohnsack of Manning and Mrs. J.G. Claussen of Chicago, were both in attendance at the funeral, which was held from the German Lutheran Church Sunday afternoon, Rev. Johann Ansorge officiating, and the remains, followed by a long concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends were laid to rest in the Manning Cemetery.

Mr. Bohnsack was a kind husband, an indulgent father and an upright citizen, and his death is mourned by a host of friends who recognized and admired his many good qualities.
