William Dammann, 58, succumbed to a long illness at his farm home one mile west of Manning Friday afternoon. He had been in poor health about a year and a half.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, August 2, 1948, at the Zion Lutheran Church. The Rev. Johann M. Ansorge officiated.

Mr. Dammann was born January 3, 1890, on a farm in Lincoln Township, Audubon County, about four miles south of Manning.

He was married to Dora Fischer at Manning January 7, 1913.

Surviving with his wife are four sons: William, Jr., Walter and Hugo, Manning, and LeRoy, at home; one daughter, Mrs. Paul Bogatzke (Ruth), Milwaukee, Wisconsin; eight grandchildren, three brothers, Henry, George and Herman, Manning, and one sister, Mrs. Anna Langbehn, Wolsey, South Dakota.

His parents, Claus and Margaret Dammann, parent brothers, John and Harry, and one sister Mrs. Charles Hershman (Emma), preceded him in death. Mr. Dammann was a member of the Manning Lutheran church.

Pall bearers were Peter Moeller, Henry Arp, Walter Miller, John J. Struve, Emil Kuhn and Harry Massmann.


William Dammann is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
