William Friedrichsen

Milton-Freewater, Oregon - Funeral services for William Henry Friedrichsen, 83, Milton-Freewater, formerly of Watertown, South Dakota, were January 18 in Christ The King Lutheran Church at Milton-Freewater, with the Reverend Philip Nesvig, officiating.

Burial was in the Milton-Freewater Cemetery. Mr. Friedrichsen died January 15, 1983, in Walla Walla, Washington, hospital.

Mr. Friedrichsen was born November 25, 1899, at Bloomfield, Nebraska, to Henry and Rosa (Kusel) Friedrichsen. The family moved to Audubon, Iowa, where he attended school. He married Edna David December 6, 1923, at Audubon. They moved to Watertown two years later, where Mr. Friedrichsen was employed as an engineer in the city light plant until 1953 when they moved to Milton-Freewater.

He was employed in the Umatilla Canning Company until retiring in 1966. He was a member of the Christ The King Church and the Walla Walla Teamsters. His hobby was rock collecting.

Survivors include his wife, three sons, Gilmore of Milton-Freewater, and Verll and Harlan of Vancouver, Washington; a daughter, Gloria Schmidt of Kennewick, Washington; a brother, Edward of Phoenix, Arizona; two sisters, Lena David of Audubon, and Flora Polzien, of Wall Lake, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
