FATHER GARDNER DEAD.
At this writing (Friday afternoon)
Mr. William Gardner is sinking rapidly and his life will go out in a few brief hours. Mr. Gardner is one of the pioneer citizens of Manning, an honorable gentleman, and the news will be regretted by his numerous friends. Mr. Gardner is in his seventy-ninth year. He was taken sick a week ago with a severe attack of bowel complaint and at his advanced age it has so weakened him that his recovery is impossible.

LATER. Mr. Gardner passed away at 2:15 yesterday afternoon, September 22, 1893. Julius W. Gardner, a son, arrived from Nebraska, Thursday night and another one expected from Wyoming. The funeral will be held on Sunday.
