Funeral services for William "Bill" Jensen were held Saturday, April 2, 1983, at 2:00 p.m. at the Ohde Funeral Home in Manning with the Reverend Dennis Johnson of the First Presbyterian Church in Manning officiating. Connie Siepker was organist and Judy Joens was vocalist. Interment was in Manning Cemetery with Louis Boell, Lester Karsten, Gary Jensen, Eldor Schwitzer, John A. Ehrichs and Arnold Brus as casketbearers. Ohde Funeral Home in Manning was in charge of arrangements.

William John Frederick, son of William John and Lillian (Brus) Jensen, was born December 23, 1901, near Manning, Iowa. He attended rural schools near his home.

On May 6, 1934, he was united in marriage with Minnie Westphalen Taylor. Bill worked as a mechanic & electrician before working for many years in maintenance for the Manning Creamery Company until his retirement in the mid-1960s.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, in Manning.

Bill died unexpectedly while taking a morning walk in Manning Thursday, March 31, 1983, at the age of 81 years, 3 months and 8 days.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, William Rae Jensen on July 4, 1982; and by five sisters: Anna, Mrs. John Lafrentz; Adele, Mrs. Harry Kruetzfeldt; Clara, Mrs. Vertus Lamp; Ella, Mrs. Otto Lamprecht; and Lillian, Mrs. Louie Wegner.

He is survived by his wife, Minnie of Manning; a step-daughter, Iola, Mrs. Clarence Stammer, Manning; five grandchildren: Clifford & Calvin Stammer, both of Manning; Shelli Rae (Mrs. Victor Kelly), West Covina, California; Elizabeth, Jensen and Todd Jensen, both of Highland, California; eight great-grandchildren: Crystal, Craig, Cory & Scott Stammer, Clinton & Chad Stammer, Mathew & William Brandon Kelly; by one sister, Gladys, Mrs. Leo Dalton, Wausa, Nebraska, and one brother, Hubert Jensen, Clinton, Iowa; as well as by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.


William Jensen is buried in the Manning City Cemetery.
