WILLUS ROY HILL
Willus Roy, son of Ferdinand and Anna Struve Hill, was born September 7, 1920,
on a farm northwest of Manning in Crawford County, Iowa. He attended country schools.
On June 1, 1941, Willus was united in marriage with Lois Erps. Four children: Gerald, Richard, Charles, and Scott, were born to this union. Willus was a farmer most of his life and started farming on his own in 1947. He lived on various farms in the Manning area, moving to his present farm home in 1963. He also worked for Farmland Foods in Denison for 16 years, retiring in 1982.
Willus died unexpectedly on Sunday evening, October 26, 1986, at Manning General Hospital, Manning, Iowa, at the age of 66 years, 1 month, and 19 days.
He was preceded in death by his parents and by two brothers, Marvin and Albert Hill.
Willus is survived by his wife, Lois, of Manning; by four children: Gerald Hill and his wife, Bonnie, of Deloit; Richard Hill, with the United States Navy in Honolulu, Hawaii; Charles Hill, of Carroll; and Scott Hill, of Manning; by three grandchildren: Tony, Brian, and Jason Hill; by two brothers, Wilbur Hill and his wife, Wynona, of Manning; and Harold Hill and his wife, Viola, of Schleswig; by one sister, Faily Hill, of Manning; by two sisters-in-law, Faye Hill, of Manning, and Jeanne Hill, of Omaha; and by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
As a youth Willus was active in 4-H, and was especially interested in showing calves. He maintained an avid interest in cattle his entire life and was currently raising registered Angus cattle.
I'm occasionally adding the actual scanned image of the obituary I make using my VERY expensive - large commercial scanner,
and/or also other articles about the deceased person that were published in the Manning Monitor.
I want to also comment about people who are taking my obituaries, pictures, and/or other articles about a person/family and posting them on other websites.
You do NOT have permission or the right to do this - you are stealing my historical work.
Buy your own scanning equipment, pay for memberships to other commercial websites,
and spend decades working on your local history like I have - then you'll understand why I'm making these comments!
Thank you for your attention to this matter - Dave Kusel
