
He was transferred to Camp Forrest, Tennessee, then to Camp Blanding, Florida. Later he was sent to Camp Kilmer, New Jersey, and then to A.P. Hill, Virginia. He was sent to Camp McCoy, Wisconsin, and was discharged from there November 12, 1943.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 27, at Zion Lutheran church in Manning with the pastor, the Rev. Paul Krumm, officiating. Kristy Jacobsen will be organist and a quartet composed of Larry Genzen, Kenneth Puck, Sue Puck, and Paula Krumm will sing. Burial, under the direction of the Ohde Funeral Home of Manning, will be in the Manning cemetery with military honors by the Manning American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars posts.
Casketbearers will be Bill Dammann, Bennie Otto, Wilmer Ranniger, Sal Grundmeier, Clifford Tank, and Louie Otto.
Mr. Anthony is survived by his wife, Fern, Manning; a daughter, Mrs. Gene (Colene) Lohrmann, Manning; two grandchildren, Andrea and Kyle, and a sister, Norma Lamaack.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Anthony was born January 12, 1910, in Iowa Township, Crawford County, a son of William and Emma (Kuhl) Anthony. He graduated from Manning High School in 1928 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He farmed first with his father. On February 12, 1941, he was married to Fern Frank at Zion Lutheran church in Manning. In 1945 he began farming on his own on the family farm where he lived for 57 years before his retirement in 1967.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran church, the Manning American Legion post and the Hayes Township Schuetzen Verein.
