Tues Dec 5-Just returned from an emergency trip to Chicago last night. Got snowed in with 14 inches of snow and nearly zero weather. Brought back many memories of my years in Manning. Saw all the pictures of the celebration in Manning and am envious that I could not be there. Gerhardt Lamp played Santa Claus in those years. You are doing a great job of the web site and enjoy it very much. Am looking forward to the video of the moving of Trinity on televison. Gods blessing to all.

Hi Don,
Thanks for the identification.
I would be interested in more information about Mike.
My current e-mail address can be found toward the top of this page or on the upper left of my main web page.

Hi Dave, Sorry I missed the big celebration, but it was the same week as my son Aaron's wedding. You have a great website. Do you remember back in the late 1980's when you made a video put to the song of Bruce Springstein's "Born in a Small Town". Is there any way to get a copy of that? Of course I would be happy to pay whatever it would cost. Thanks, Joyce Nelson

Ballgames, concerts, celebrations, graduations, school and community activities, reunions, fund raisers, family and town history and so much more. We all lead busy lives and we appreciate the fact that you take the time to do so much for our town. It is because of people like you that we have such a wonderful, progressive community. Mr. Kusel: Lots of favorite childhood memories of summer vacations (late 50s, early 60s) visiting my dad's old stomping grounds around Manning. He's 87 now, and just reminded me that I put his rank on the memorial as "CWO", rather than "CW4". I'll pay whatever it takes to correct that, if possible--just let me know. I'm going up to visit cousins this weekend, and will stop by to look at the memorial. It was a really neat gesture--thanks.

Hello MHS Class of '66 are you out there? Did I get left off all the mailing lists?
I can't believe that our 40th Anniversary is this summer and the big Manning celebration and we don't seem to be doing diddly! Which of course would be about par for us.
I will go $50 towards the cost of a tent and contact Karen to get it rented and set up, IF any of you will kick in the rest, the princely sum of $95 for a 20x20 tent plus what ever the transportation fee would be. I don't know how much the fee is, but I will soon find out. Face it guys, we need a place to stand without getting our old bald heads sunburned.
Contact me if you are still alive MHS 66. I gotta know soon, I have a ugly travel schedule for work between now and May 15, the deadline for the tent rent.
See you in Manning one way or he other, Phil

Your great website was found while surfing the internet for any Audubon County Iowa ancestery. My congratulations to you for such a lovely and inspiring site. The Trinity Lutheran Church records, brought forth the 1896 marriage of my maternal grandparents, Herman and Mina (Obermeier) Meyer, the baptisms of their nine children, the deaths of two of these young children, and the confirmation dates of a great many of them. My grandparents immigrated from Germany, and I remember them talking about the Beckmans, who I believe were relatives, although I have no information on them. You are surely to be commended for putting together such valuable information. Thank you and God Bless.
