This truck chassis was purchased from F.D. Ross of the Ford Motor company in Manning.
The firetruck body and pumping system was added onto the chassis at a manufacturing company in Laverne, Minnesota.
Each rural committee member was assigned different sections in the area. Roy Struve had 3 sections and he went door-to-door. The committee members asked for $20.00 from landowners and $5.00 from renters.
Roy had only one landowner refuse to donate.
Roy's dad, George H. Struve, was on the first Rural Firetruck commitee which purchased Rural Firetruck #1 in 1939.
