Good Morning:

I am researching the Whitcomb family from Littleton, MA. John Henry Douglas Whitcomb was a Holstein dairy farmer, and recipient of many "premiums" or ribbons from various state competitions. These ribbons were sewed together into a banner which was originally given to the Holstein Museum in Brattleboro, Vt in the 1950's. The quilt was found in the Manning Library in 1997, and it was returned to the family at that time.

I am seeking any information on how the quilt came from Vermont to Iowa, as well as any information on the connection to Manning, Iowa.

I appreciate any information or help I can receive.

Thank you in advance, and may you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.

Jill Braceland
