Gehrmann in Manning Cemetery

Hi Bill,

Both Christoph & Wilhelmina are buried in the Manning Cemetery.

Christoph Gehrmann
1857 - 1953
Wilhelmina Gehrmann
1851 - 1951

Section D
Row #32 North to South

Each section is marked A, B, etc and the rows described above start in the North East corner of that section going north to south and the next row going south to north.
You'll notice the Lutheran church just north of the cemetery and Center street just west of the cemetery.


I thought Gehrmann would be a Lutheran name so I checked the Lutheran Church records I put on the web.

On the top frame scroll down to the Burials section and click on the 1894 - 1934 216 - 220 link.
There you will find Christian Gehrmann listed.
Wilhilmina is listed under this section 1934 - 1959 221 - 226.

The cemetery records don't list Christian Gehrmann but that doesn't mean he isn't buried there.
The records I look at are listed in the Iowa Genealogical Society booklet --- data was collected for the society by Ginger Hudson of Manning.
This booklet only shows names listed on the grave stones.
The City of Manning has record books with more information located in City Hall.
