Laura Molly (Sporwien) Elshire was the matriarch of our family and my grandma.
This past summer we had a great Elshire reunion with 92 cousins, in-laws and out-laws. Some of the Sporwiens and Gruhns moved to Gregory SD in the early part of the century, our branch of the clan moved on from South Dakota to Washington State during the dust bowl. I was thrilled to find my grandma's baptism record in your Zion Lutheran Centennial Book. It was exciting to see that our great grandparents helped found the Zion church. Thank you for posting this history to the world. p.s. We are all hard working, short-legged people with a good sense of humour- Think we're related? |
