My grandfather was Peter H. Ehlers. He was born at Hamdorf, Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. He had a cousin who lived at Manning, Iowa during the 30's. I know that sometime after my grandfather died in 1934, my grandmother and my aunt and uncle drove to Manning to visit George Faulkner, grandpa's cousin. George Faulkner served in the German Navy, before coming to America. There seems to be a problem with the spelling of the name in the German records, but my grandmother always spelled it Faulkner. Can anyone tell me anything about him, or his family. |
