I can't help you much with descendants of Detlef Frahm and Anna Tolk, but I have more details from my grandmother's family tree dated 1893 in Germany.

Detlef Frahm was one of four brothers from Klein Bennebek, Schleswig-Holstein. Peter Frahm was my great grandfather and Detlef Frahm was his younger brother. Detlef and his two brothers, Juergen Heinrich Frahm and Hans Frahm, emigrated to Iowa. Detlef came in March 1869 to Manning, Juergen in February 1870 to Clinton, and Hans in February 1873 to Manning and later moved to Santa Cruz, California. Detlef Frahm was born September 8, 1847, in Klein-Bennebek.

Detlef's first wife was Anna Tolk, who was born in Norby (S-H) and died in Manning. Their children, all born in Manning, were Katie, April 4, 1875; Detlef, March 16, 1876; Henrich, May 16, 1883; and Juergen, February 8,1885. Detlef's second wife was Margaretha Rohweder, and their children were Emma, born January 16, 1888, and Johannis, born November 3, 1889.

All of Detlef's six children were, of course, my grandmother Catharine Louise Frahm Ehlers' first cousins. My grandmother and my mother, Anna Louise Ehlers Wagner, came to Manning in December 1927. Before that my mother's brothers, Claus and Detlef Ehlers also emigrated from Schleswig-Holstein to Manning, later moving on to Chicago. My grandmother and mother also moved to Chicago soon after coming to Manning, but my grandmother moved back to Manning and worked as a housekeeper for Juergen Claussen and his brother and sister. No doubt my family members who came to Manning from Germany did so because Detlef Frahm lived there.

Unfortunately, my mother died nearly a year ago. She may have been able to provide more information. I remember her saying something about Emma Frahm. Perhaps she met her and would have had some clues to the other children of Detlef Frahm.

If I can be of further help, please feel free to contact me directly: ewfield@att.net. It was quite by accident that I found your message. I was just dinking around on the Manning page, which is on my "favorites" list, but I rarely browse the Internet.
