During the early 1900s to mid-1950s, people from the Omaha/Council Bluffs area would ride the Great Western passenger train to Manning. The train would stop at the Great Western Park, which was not an official stop, let off the passengers, then continue into Manning to stop, then up to Carroll.
Then when the train would return at night it would make the stops in reverse and then take the people from the park back to Council Bluffs/Omaha.
