I also write about how this has been going on for decades, going back to the Pioneer Days of Manning.
Recently the Manning Little League committee promoted the sale of banners to raise money for the ball diamonds and the little league program.
Follow the link below to see the sponsors and their banners...be sure to thank the individuals and business owners for their support when you see them!
If you like history and want to learn about Manning's ball fields then be sure to click on the first link and take the time to read the information.
I'm sure most of you will be surprised at how/when the various sports fields began.
Banners were sold to help fund the Manning Little League and the upkeep of the fields and equipment.
Citizens of the Manning community continue, year after year, decade after decade, for 140 years now to support various activities, clubs, and the over-all quality of life we have all come to expect.
BUT it takes individuals and groups to organize and volunteer to keep things going in town and as usual, the businesses, churches, and clubs came through with monetary donations, above and beyond the time individuals give to the various groups.
The next time you see a business owner, or a member of these groups - give them a BIG THANK YOU for their donations and volunteer time they give to the Manning community.
From my understanding, each donor paid $300 for their banner so these great people raised a lot of money (again) for the community.
