The family of Adam Soll will receive friends on Saturday, May 11th, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., followed by a Memorial Service at 3 p.m., all at Heafey Hoffmann Dworak Cutler Funeral Home, 7805 W. Center Road, Omaha, Nebraska. Private Interment at a later date at the Manning Cemetery, Manning, Iowa.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Adam L. Soll, son of Malia Hansen and Allen Soll was born on September 14, 1980, in Manning Iowa. He spent the first years of his life in Aspinwall, Iowa, later moving with his family to Tekamah Nebraska. He graduated from Tekamah - Herman High School with the class of 1999.

Adam attended Iowa State University, University of Omaha and Mesa Community College. He worked for Dial America in Omaha, Nebraska, and Tempe, Arizona, as a supervisor.

Adam was a true lover of sports of all kinds and was a life-long fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes. His memory of sports information was extraordinary. He never let his physical struggles get him down. With his intelligence, quick wit and love of lively conversation he made many friends over the years and was loved by everyone who knew him. He will always be remembered for his kindness toward others.

Adam moved to Ambassador Health in Lincoln, Nebraska, in January 2018 and quickly became a favorite of the staff while always keeping them on their toes.

Following hospitalization at the University Of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha on April 3, 2019, he passed away there on May 3, 2019.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Richard Hansen, Roy and Ruth Soll.

He is survived by his mother, Malia Hansen and her life partner Mark Hutchins of Omaha, Nebraska; father, Allen Soll and his wife Sue Blake of Tekamah, Nebraska; brother, Evan Soll of Omaha, Nebraska; grandmother, Marilyn Hansen of Manning, Iowa; aunts and uncles: Doug and Sharon Hansen of Omaha, Nebraska; Kristin Hansen and Lyn Swing of Coon Rapids, Iowa; Kyle and Deb Hansen of Templeton, Iowa; Jim and Charlotte Soll of Audubon, Iowa; loving dogs, Charlie and Rosie as well as many friends and relatives.

Allen, Roy, Ruth, Jim
Roy Soll, son of William and Dora (Boyens) Soll, was born August 9, 1926, on a farm 1 1/2 miles north of Aspinwall. He moved with his folks to the Manilla area and then back to Aspinwall. Roy married Ruth Starner June 4, 1948, at her parent's home in Shelby, Iowa. Ruth, the daughter of Herbert and Aura (Gill) Starner of Shelby, was born in Council Bluffs May 26, 1927. Roy and Ruth are the parents of two sons, James and Allen.

James married Charlotte Joens, daughter of Donald and Deloris (Nickum) Joens. They have two children. Ronald married Susan Nissen. They have two daughters, Jessica and Jenna. Barbi married David Elmquist. They have a son, Alex and a daughter Abby.

Allen married Malia Hansen, daughter of Richard and Marilyn (Molgaard) Hansen. They have two sons, Adam and Evan.

Roy spent 15 years in the trucking business; he managed the propane business for Phillips Petroleum Company and Union Gas in Manning from 1960 to 1969. In 1969, he began his own plumbing, heating and electrical company in Aspinwall until 1988, when he retired and sold the business to his son Jim.

Ruth graduated from the Shelby school, attended Buena Vista College and Drake University to receive her BA in Elementary Education. She taught in a rural school west of Avoca, the Irwin school, a rural school north of Aspinwall in Hayes Township, a rural school south of Manning in Ewoldt Township, and the Gray school which was under the Audubon school system for six years. When they moved the Junior High students from Gray to Audubon, she also went to Audubon to teach 6th grade. Ruth retired from the Audubon system in 1989 after teaching a total of 38 years.

Roy and Ruth celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 4, 1998. After living in Aspinwall for 50 years, they moved to Manning in September 1998, renting a home for five years and then building their home at 1407 Center Street in 2004 where they now live.

Richard & Marilyn
Richard (Dick) Hansen was born at the family home in Audubon County on September 5, 1936. His father, Hans Hansen, was born in Aero, Denmark, in 1893 and came to America in 1915 at the age of twenty-two. Dick's mother, Magdalena (Mayer) Hansen, was born in Wolfratshausen, Germany, in 1906 and came to America in 1923 at the age of seventeen. Dick had one brother and six sisters.

Marilyn (Molgaard) Hansen was born at the family home in Hamlin, Iowa, on July 28, 1936, to Ted and Louise (Searls) Molgaard. Marilyn had four sisters.

Dick and Marilyn both graduated from Viola Consolidated School in Audubon County, Dick in 1954 and Marilyn in 1955. They were married June 17, 1955, at the First Presbyterian Church in Audubon.

The first years of their married life they lived in Coon Rapids where Dick was employed at Thorp John Deere, first as a mechanic, then as a salesman. In 1958 they moved to Viola Center where Dick worked for the Audubon Community School as a bus mechanic. In 1960 they moved to Manning when Dick took a job as John Deere Salesman for Puck Implement. He continued working there for forty years until his retirement. Marilyn worked as a secretary at L.R. Nelson, Wells Manufacturing, and Burcliff Industries in Manning.

Dick and Marilyn are the parents of four children. Douglas Dean was born January 16, 1956; Malia Louise (Soll) was born August 6, 1957; Kristin Ann (Dailey) was born June 14, 1959; and Kyle Hans was born November 30, 1962. Their family now also includes Sharon (Conway) Hansen, Mark Hutchens, David Dailey, and Debra (Irlmeier) Hansen. There are also seven grandchildren: Adam and Evan Soll, Mackenzi and Tyler Dailey, and Shelby, Garrett and Reese Hansen.

Dick and Marilyn enjoyed traveling and especially enjoyed a trip they took in 1998 to Germany and Denmark. They visited Dick's cousins in both countries and enjoyed seeing the birthplaces of both of Dick's parents.

Dick passed away on July 14, 2003, at the Manning Hospital.
