Albert Signall was born December 19, 1896, in Manning, Iowa, to William and Jennie (Woodward) Signall.
He enlisted in World War I and served in France in 1918. After the service he was employed as a barber.

He died July 5, 1955, and was given Military Honors by the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post No. 3517 of Manning, Iowa.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Methodist Church in Gray for Albert "Butts" Signall, 58, of Gray, who died Tuesday, July 5, 1955, at the Audubon County Memorial Hospital. The Rev. Darrell Mitchell will officiate. Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Audubon, Iowa.

Military services will be in charge of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 3517 of Manning.

The body is resting at the Ohde Funeral Home here until the time of rites.

Mr. Signall had been hospitalized since last Friday, when he suffered a stroke.

Mr. Signall, a barber, had lived in Gray 46 years. He was born December 19, 1896, at Manning, a son of William and Jennie (Woodward) Signall, both of whom are deceased.

During World War I he served overseas for 16 months. Afterwards he returned to Gray.

He was married at Atlantic June 4, 1934, to Marie Crees, who survives. Also surviving are two brothers, William of Royal, Iowa; and Francis of Ralston, Iowa; and two sisters, Mrs. Mildred Bakken, Ogden, Iowa; and Mrs. George Dozler, Templeton, Iowa.

A brother, Tom, preceded him in death.


William Signal Sr. is buried in the Manning Cemetery.
