HARVEY HARRY BOECK

Funeral services were held Saturday, February 28, 1976, at 11 a.m. for Harvey Harry Boeck at the Maxwell Funeral Home in Denison.

Son of Harry and Hattie Christine (Kolls) Boeck, he was born March 9, 1919, in Manilla. He grew up in Manilla and attended the Manilla School System. Upon graduation he entered the Marine Crops and after his basic training he was sent with a unit to the Philippines. He was reported missing in action and was held a prisoner of the Japanese for 3 1/2 years.

He was awarded the Good Conduct, Sharpshooter, and 4 Battle Stars, the Purple Heart, and Asiatic Combat Ribbon.

Boeck was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, later transferring his membership to the Presbyterian Church.

He was united to Glee Nadine Hain of Denison by the Reverend W. L. Tillman on June 9, 1946, and they were blessed with a daughter Lynn and a son Scott.

Boeck sold stocks, bonds, and insurance, and at the time of his death he was employed by the North Northeast Reality of Blaine, Minnesota.

He was preceded in death by his father Harry. He is survived by his wife Glee Nadine of St. Paul, a son Scott, a member of the Marine Corps stationed in Hawaii, a daughter Lynn, stationed in Heidelberg, Germany, his mother Hattie of Manning, two sisters, Mrs. Elroy (Darlene) Schrum of Manning, and Mrs. Don (Maxine) Rowe of Whittier, California, six nephews, four nieces, and many other relatives and friends.

Rev. James D. Cobb officiated at the services, with Mrs. Harold Norman as organist and Henry Henningsen as soloist. Burial was in Nishnabotna Cemetery, Manilla, with military honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2504.

Casketbearers were Keith Kelderman, Steve Schrum, David Rauch, Sidney Schrum, Robert Boeck, Donald Jensen, and Dick Hain.
